About Us
Malcolm and Elisabeth Weir are a photographic team as well as husband and wife.
Malcolm first picked up a camera when he was 13, shooting family pets and landscapes until he dived into the world of underwater photography. (Sorry about the pun!) Elisabeth knew she was an artist, but couldn’t figure out why painting and drawing just didn’t do it for her – then she made the thrilling discovery that cameras were not just for holiday snaps, you could make art with them, too! She adores portraiture and infrared photography, as well as processes like solarization.
This website showcases their works, from scans of slides and negatives over a decade old, to pictures shot yesterday, from Big Famous Rocks in Australia, to the streets outside their apartment in San Francisco. Along the way, some pictures of people, animals, and fishes, as well!
We are Nikon-ers, rabid Photoshoppers, and love the new(ish) digital medium, although Elisabeth insists that she misses the smell of developer on her fingers…. (See our links page for our recommendations.)
