Wandering around down in the south of England, during the amazing winter snows of 2009. This was not shot in black and white — it’s a colour photo! But the snow had muted all the colour in the world — it was amazing, like walking in a black and white reality!

This is one of the most awesome trees I’ve ever seen! And you know I take a lot of pictures of trees!

The Concord river, sun, clouds, leaves = a recipe for a perfect picture!

Well, these leaves are worth a peep or two! Shot right in Concord Center, while my mom and the dogs waited impatiently!

The smoke of my own breath;
Echoes, ripples, buzz’d whispers, love-root, silk-thread, crotch and vine;
My respiration and inspiration, the beating of my heart, the passing of blood and air through my lungs;
The sniff of green leaves and dry leaves, and of the shore, and dark-color’d sea-rocks, and of hay in the barn;
The sound of the belch’d words of my voice, words loos’d to the eddies of the wind;
A few light kisses, a few embraces, a reaching around of arms;
The play of shine and shade on the trees as the supple boughs wag;
The delight alone, or in the rush of the streets, or along the fields and hill-sides;
The feeling of health, the full-noon trill, the song of me rising from bed and meeting the sun.

Well, I’m pretty pleased with it, even if it’s been “so done”!
Shot at Combe Crag Wood, in Cumbria, on a wet but gorgeous day.
Under the trees, on the Chiltern Way
I’ve spent my life as a photographer trying to take a picture that truly captures the feeling of what it’s like to stand under trees in that dappled green light, and I think this is the first image I’ve taken to capture even a bit of that magic. It’s just a start — I was really on a walk just on a walk with my camera. Next time, I go back with tripod and other tools of the trade!
Goth Tree
This tree, which lives under the blazing sun of the Australian Outback, could teach most goths a thing or two about the gothic look and attitude!
